Lugano, 18 June 2026 – Farma Industria Ticino (FIT) took part in the recent Open Day at SPAI Trevano, helping to promote educational pathways related to the professions of Chemical Laboratory Technician, Biology Laboratory Technician, and Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology Specialist.
The event provided an important career guidance opportunity for young people and their families, who were able to tour the school’s laboratories, observe apprentices carrying out practical activities, and engage with teachers, trainers, and industry representatives. Through demonstrations, presentations, and interactive discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the content, skills, and career prospects offered by the dual vocational education system in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.
FIT’s participation forms part of the association’s broader commitment to promoting scientific and technical professions. In collaboration with training companies and vocational education stakeholders, FIT helps raise awareness among young people of high-quality, practical educational pathways that are closely connected to the world of work and are essential for ensuring the continuity and development of Ticino’s pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
At the conclusion of the visit, SPAI teachers, with the support of FIT, organized the “Laboratory Mission” competition, designed to engage visitors in an interactive way and spark their curiosity about the professions presented during the event. Among those who answered the questions correctly, Mia Lubini was randomly selected as the winner of a copy of Chemistry Is No Bore! (Chimica che Palla!), a popular science book dedicated to the world of chemistry.
Farma Industria Ticino would like to thank SPAI Trevano, its teachers, apprentices, training companies, and all visitors who contributed to the success of the event. Initiatives such as this highlight the importance of ongoing dialogue between schools, businesses, and the local community in bringing younger generations closer to scientific and technical professions and supporting them in making informed educational and career choices.
