Zurich, 30 June 2026: ISS Switzerland has successfully obtained recertification of its pharmaceutical logistics in the Life Sciences sector in accordance with the EU Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice (GDP). The accredited certification body DEKRA has confirmed compliance for a further three years. The audit was completed with no findings.
Quality, safety and traceability must be guaranteed at all times during the storage, picking and transport of medicinal products. The EU Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) define clear requirements in this regard for temperature control, documentation, quality management, processes and staff qualification.
ISS Switzerland once again meets these requirements. As part of the recertification process, DEKRA reviewed the quality-relevant processes and operational logistics procedures of the Logistics Services area in the Life Sciences sector. Particular attention was paid to compliance with regulatory requirements, the application of the Life Sciences Pharmaceutical Quality Management System (PQMS) and its consistent implementation in day-to-day operations.
The result confirms the robustness of the logistics processes: the recertification was completed with no non-conformities identified.
Certified quality by independent bodies for sensitive pharmaceutical logistics
For clients in the Life Sciences and pharmaceutical industries, the recertification sends an important signal. It confirms that ISS handles temperature- and quality-sensitive medicinal products according to clearly defined, documented and compliant processes.
“A GDP recertification with no non-conformities is no coincidence. It shows that our processes are robust and that our teams put quality, precision and a sense of responsibility into practice every day. For our Life Sciences clients, this sends a strong message: their sensitive pharmaceutical products are in good hands with ISS,” says Frédéric Rothra, Head Logistics Services and Dangerous Goods Officer.
Differentiation in the expanding pharmaceutical logistics market
Demand for GDP-compliant logistics services is growing. Pharmaceutical companies need partners who understand regulatory requirements and are able to translate them into robust, verifiable processes. Voluntary certification by an independent body such as DEKRA provides greater security and transparency.
ISS offers integrated Facility Services with certified pharmaceutical logistics from a single provider. ISS is one of the few integrated Facility Management service providers in Switzerland to have its own pharmaceutical logistics operations, which are also GDP-certified and deliver their services largely with in-house resources. ISS thus offers a unique combination of expertise in facility management, laboratory management, logistics and compliance. Clients benefit from coordinated services, clear interfaces and certified quality across all sensitive processes.
