The 2018 Ordinary General Meeting of Farma Industria Ticino (FIT), the umbrella association for pharmaceutical chemistry in Ticino, was held on Thursday 14 June at the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola in Lugano. An occasion to celebrate the assembly year that has just ended and to immediately turn our attention to the challenges that are looming on the horizon.

For an industry that is becoming increasingly important to the economy – the 29 affiliated companies employ 2900 people with a total payroll of 255 million francs and a total turnover of 2.45 billion francs – it is essential not to make the mistake of believing oneself to be well-established and safe.

Giorgio Calderari, Chairman of FIT, reviewed the activities of the Association during the assembly year just ended and recalled the successes and important projects carried out such as, for example, participation in the fair of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry (CPhI) in Madrid, scheduled for next October, or the organization of the FIT Pharma Summit.
